After a week away under canvas, I was time to pack away and go home.
With a threat of rain, we started to pack up before eight loading so much stuff into the car. It wasn’t packed as neat and efficiently as on the way but it all went in.
We did have some trouble trying to get the tent back in it’s bag and, in the end, gave up, stuffing it in the back of the car to be sorted later. Our daughter has a nice big garden where we can lay it out and try folding it again.
After a final check we left a patch of slightly yellow grass and hit the road a little after nine.

The drive back was scenic thanks to Google driving through Bala and Knockin. The threatened rain did materialise and then there were the inevitable Sunday Drivers but we got as far as Lichfield by half twelve.
“Fancy Harvester for dinner?” I asked of Sue. “I can do that”, was the reply.
I pulled over into a handy lay-by and booked us a table at our usual establishment for one – plenty of time.
Being a Sunday dinnertime, we were expecting the place to be heaving but there were only a handful of cars in the carpark.
Not having had much in the way of breakfast, we went all out with starters, mains AND puds.
After a quick nip into the supermarket for milk and bread it was back home and unpack. We got most of the gear back into the cupboard when it lives; all but the tent so the cupboard will need re-packing at some point.
The week finally caught up with Sue who went for a lie down.
While Sue was enjoying her well earned rest, I fired up Zwift after a week’s abstinance and noticed a Wobble ride starting in a minute.
I got changed and jumped on, joining the event about three minutes in.
I felt strong and managed to stay near the front pushing an average of 153 Watts or 1.7Wkg which is good for me – if only I could hold it.

I did manage to complete the ride and was rewarded with a banner telling me that my FTP had been recalculated and upped from 137 to 159. I’m happy with that.
