Time for a bit of rant !

My current mobile contract is about to come to an end. I could just carry on but decided to look around for something cheaper.

After a bit of a search, I found IDMobile which uses the same network (three) but gives my 50GB of data for what works out as about £4 a month (three months at £4 then £8 but a £35 Amazon voucher) compared with £8 for 25GB.

I easily obtained my PAC code from three and sent this off to IDMobile and picked today as the day to switch over.

With my old SIM in an old iPhone 5 and my new SIM in my iPhone 15 Max Pro, I was all ready.

At around half ten, my old (three) service was cancelled.

After a couple of hours (when I’ve done this in the past, the new provider takes over the number almost straight away) and my new SIM has not yet taken over my old, memorable, number.

After a while getting through to a real person, I have been told that it could be up to SIX P.M. before the switch will be complete. In effect, I’m unreachable on my normal number.

I am not a happy bunny 🙁

UPDATE

I have been power-cycling my phone on and off all day but the iPhone still shows the new number.

Getting ready to try the chat again, I logged into the IDMobile App and at the top of the page was …

… Hey Kevin (I can live with that) and MY CHERISHED NUMBER – looking promising.

I asked Sue to phone me and…
… my phone rang – Hurrah !!!
