A Lie in and a Group Ride

I have not been sleeping well of late mainly due to my left knee and last night was no exception. I did finally get off at around five and awoke around noon, meaning that I’d missed my (semi)regular Zwift group ride with the Wobble Cycling Club.

Instead, if I could stay awake, I would join the later, weekend warm down.

Before the ride, I googled taping for knee support and came across a technique for the side of the knee (which is where my left hurts).

Getting out the K-tape, I strapped up my leg so we’ll see how that works.

Around half hour before the start, I set up the bike etc. (TV, iPad, amplifier) in preparation for the ride and at 4:45 set off with a load of other riders.

The ride was banded meaning that as long as you keep pedalling, you won’t get dropped.

As is usual with the Wobblers, this ride was light hearted and featured a quiz. Luckily a lot of the questions were about Sci-Fi films so I was able to correctly answer a load of them.

After a quiz question on Star Wars, I cracked my “You shouldn’t eat a Wookie sandwich” joke. As I sent the punchline; “It might be a little chewy!”, Zwift did an automatic screen save.

Having a bit of banter going makes the time fly by and the hour was soon up. A little warm down followed before cleaning up ahead of dinner.

That ride was the last ride of my FIFTY WEEK STREAK on Zwift – I’ve been Zwifting, weekly, for nearly a year.
