We came back from a week in Cornwall to a heat wave in Birmingham.
We have had three days where the temperature was well into the thirties Celsius, and today, Saturday, it was still in the high twenties.
Too hot to do much, so we haven’t.
We did have a visitor on Wednesday. One of my daughter’s son’s girlfriend (stay with me) bought a puppy but my daughter seems to spend a lot of time looking after it. She quite enjoys it to be honest.
Anyway, Betty (that’s the dog not my daughter) was brought over to play with our two pooches. Although three times the size of Betty, Gabby and Misty had a great time with her.

Betty was a little intimidated at first but was soon running around with them, playfully nipping at them and even giving that “come play with me” bark.
The play date was a great success and will be repeated. There is also a play field nearby that we have used in the past so when the weather cools down, we’ll have to take all three over there for a run around.
I have been playing computers again, this time resurrecting an old Mac mini to run Windows 11. It’s gone on and seems to work but the Windows isn’t activated and I’m not going to spend nearly two hundred quid for a licence. It was a good exercise though.

I’ve been on the bike a few times this week thankful of the big fan.
With no cycling for the week we were away, I’ve made sure that I’ve taken it easy.
I didn’t think that I’d get any riding in today as my left knee was been really painful but I needed to jump on just to spin the pedals and make sure that the Rouvy update had installed correctly.
Again, only a short, easy, session but the knee felt much better after spinning the legs. And, obviously, Rouvy was working fine.
