Again, I was awake and up before the alarm, so got ready and took the dogs out for their morning sniff / walk.
Not too far and was back in the house with the three of us breakfasted before half six.
I had planned on driving into work then getting the train out to Sutton Coldfield to walk home from there. However, I changed the plan so that, this morning, I’ll catch the bus to Saltley then walk the two miles to work.
I had a short wait for the 94 bus and was getting off just before seven. A short walk put me on the canal which I followed to Digbeth before a final couple of hundred metres to work.
Just after getting onto the canal, I came across an unusual (for a canal) sight – roadworks.
There is a section of towpath being worked on so a temporary footpath has been created on pontoons, narrowing the canal, requiring some traffic management.
I wouldn’t have thought the lights were needed as there is very little boat traffic along this stretch.
By half seven, I was at work with three and a half miles under my belt.
After work, I plan on catching a bus (97) to the end of Chelmsley Road then walking to Coleshill then home from there. My daily total should be around the planned eight miles.
