I was awoken by a whinning dog at some ungodly hour and after, unsuccessfully trying to go back to sleep gave up and took them out for their morning constitutional.
They did about a mile and a half each before breakfast.
I went into work on the bus as I planned on walking home afterwards.
Come four p.m. I left work joining the canal and carrying on through Saltley and Nechells to Salford Junction. Approaching Star Shitty City, I espied this graffiti under a bridge …
From Salford Junction, I switched to the Birmingham Fazeley canal and through light drizzle made my way to the Tyburn House.
From here, I walked along the noisy Chester Road past JLR and Spitfire Island.
At Newport Road, I climbed Castle Bromwich hill and made my way to the footpath that skirts the Parkfields estate emerging at Park Hall School. From here it was but a short walk to my front door.
I was no sooner in the house than I was clipping a lead onto Gabby’s collar and I was back out walking the streets.
Tonight’s streets were Auckland Drive, Shetland Walk, Windward Way and Burtons Way – technically, no streets at all !
By the time I finally made it home, I’d walked fourteen miles today.
The annual total now stands at 331 Miles.
