The knee is still sore but at least I am able to get comfortable enough for some sleep.

On Tuesday, I finally got through to the doctors’ receptionist only to be told that I was too late to get an appointment in the morning. “Can you book me in for this afternoon, then?” I enquired. “No! You’ll have to phone back at four.”

After a while, the receptionist did make me an appointment to see the Practice Nurse.

The nurse had a look and a feel and asked what I was taking for the swelling. “Ice, Ibufrofen Gel” I informed her. “Good, carry on”, she continued, “Ask the receptionist to book you an appointment with the physiotherapist.”

The receptionist booked me an appointment for “tomorrow – 2:50” she told me.

The following day, I finished work a little early and went home to to change into shorts when I received a text from NHS direct reminding me of my physio appointment for Tomorrow! After a call to the practice, it was confirmed that my appointment was, indeed, for the following day.

The swelling has gone down somewhat (knee only about twice the size of the good ‘un) and the pain is easing. We’ll see what the physio has to say this afternoon.
