To add a bit of spice to our lives (pun intended) I decided that a meal out this evening was in order.

Instead of the usual, and somewhat uninspiring, choices of Harvester or The Lord Nelson (other eateries are available) we plumbed for a local Indian restaurant, Jeera.

I can remember, vaguely, this place opening (and was later reminded that it was back in 2005) and we did visit a few times but then it was forgotten.

As is usual for us, I booked a table, online, for six and on entering we swelled the number of dinners to two.

We both managed to find something on the menu with Sue having a tandoori grill and I the mushroom biryani.

Jeera is not licensed but I took a bottle of non-alcoholic fizzy wine as I was driving and Sue didn’t feel like drinking anyway.

The meals were very tasty and the service, apart from the waitress for whom English was definitely not her first language to whom we had to repeat our orders numerous times.

With the meal, kulfi and coffee consumed the manager asked if we’d been before. We said that we had but it was some time ago probably just after they’d opened. It was then they we learnt that they’d been here for twenty years. Asked if they might see us again we replied most probably.

Outside, Sue agreed that it had been a good evening out and that we’d have to try again.

Jeera also do takeaway so maybe an alternative to the usual Lime Pickle ?
