We had bought tickets to see another Beatles tribute act called Across the Universe at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. Hopefully, this ensemble would be better than the last Beatles act (Beatles by Candlelight) that we saw in Lichfield (see here).

Looking at the Geocaching.com map for any nearby caches we spotted three that we could squeeze in before the gig; a traditional, a multi and a, rare, virtual.

The first was straightforward and soon located. The next, the multi, was only two stages and again the container was soon discovered. The virtual, though …

The final cache, Cofa’s Tree and Cathedrals Three, required that we visit eight locations around the cathedral to collect letters from various items. Problem was two were within the old cathedral which was locked up for the night.

We found the others then resorted to Google to find the remainder. All eight letters were meant to spell out a name of someone with connections to Coventry but the best we could come up with was STOSBURG.

During half time at the gig, later, we took another look at our letters and suddenly St. Osburg sprang out. A quick Google revealed that St. Osburg (or Osbuga or Osburh) was a saint probably from Anglo Saxon times. We messaged the owner with our answer then settled down for the second half.

With three caches found (one to be confirmed) we made our way to The Belgrade and found our seats (H15 and 16) with about ten minutes before kick off.

This band, mostly from Glasgow, looked nothing like the Fab Four (especially as there were about fifteen of them) but sounded just like them.

The band rattled through a load of songs from the Beatles non-performing era and were very good at it.

With the encore of All you need is Love and Hey Jude still ringing in our ears, we made our way to the almost adjacent car park, retrieved the vehicle and were back home taking just twenty one minutes to drive from Coventry.

Not a bad night out. Three caches found (we had an email confirming our interpretation of St. Osburg) and a most enjoyable couple of hours of well performed Beatles music. Rock and Roll !
