I am planning to got to Shrewsbury, tomorrow, as my weekly bus-pass jolly.
Thanks to Traveline I have a route planned going through Wolverhampton and Bridgnorth returning via Telford and Wolvo.
I was looking at the map and realised that Shrewsbury is only about six miles from the Welsh border.
I found somewhere just over the border, Welshpool, and found a bus that runs between Shrewsbury and that town.
I wasn’t sure whether I could use my pass on this service so I contacted the bus operator, Celtic Travel, and asked. An hour later, I received the reply, above, stating that I would by okay to get to Welshpool using my English concessionary pass.
Obviously, I’ll have to do this on a Saturday as the journey each way is about five hours. It’s an idea.
