With photography, currently, in the ascendant, I have revisited a site that I used to frequent back around the early twenty twenties.
The site is called Photocrowd and is an on-line photography contest site.
There are at any time a number of competitions open. Some you need to pay to enter but the section I tend to make my way over to is the Community Contest which. have been created by fellow members.
At the present time, subjects include Landscape Panoramas, People on Benches, Buckets, Two or more Books and Wooden Paths to name but a few.
The community contests are voted for my other members and after allowing this process to rate all the photos, the winners are announced. Points are awarded depending on a number of factors including number of entries with extra points given out by the judges for those with they think deserve particular note.
Believe it or not, but this is my most successful entry to date coming in at number sixty five (not sure out of how many) but gaining bonus points for getting into the judge’s top five.
Needless to say, I back into entering photos with the below currently being judged …
The train is currently 14th out of 1,338 with four days left.
The new camera is fairing well. I did a little test, last night in low light (and therefore high ISO) and there was a lot less noise visible than similar setting would have produced with the old camera. I used to enjoy the now noise of a previous camera which is handy for taking pictures inside National Trust properties where flashes aren’t permitted.
