I was half-heartedly prepared for a parkrun, this morning, but opted for a little more quality sleep. I should have got up and walked the dogs but it was absolutely hammer down with rain. Maybe doggy walks later ?
I finally rolled out of bed just before half eight. Once the dogs were fed, I breakfasted myself then pottered around before Sue appeared.
I spent most of my time updating Home Assistant especially adding a Glance Card for the different themes for the Nano Leaf panels in the den.
When Sue was up and ready, we left to do the weekly shop but en-route decided to drive up the A38 to Lichfield now that the rain had stopped then do the shopping on the way back.
We had a mooch around the shops with Sue buying a couple of small Christmas trees whilst I bought lunch at Costa.
Leaving Lichfield, we swung by Sainsbury for the shopping before returning to base.
Once the shopping was stashed away and while it was still dry, I got ready and took Gabby for a walk around the Water Orion Loop.
After about a mile the rain return, firstly as a drizzle before transforming into a right old downpour.
We completed the three and a bit miles and arriving home I had to hold Gabby in the hall while I towelled her dry before repeating the exercise with Misty.
Luckily, on lap two, the rain changed from a downpour to a heavy drizzle and eventually to a light drizzle.
All in all, we walked 6.6 miles in under two hours, which is good going with the puppies. Average pace (according to Strava) 17.02 per mile.
Back home I was able to change into dry clothes before feeding the doggos (liver and mixed veg.) then started tea for Sue and myself.
