Following my recent post concerning making room for the crap that I’d had stashed away at work, I got to thinking about what I’ve got in my office.

Originally a bedroom, when all the birds had fled the nest, I was allowed this room as mine. This would have been around the time of Covid and working from home. I was given a desk from work and the rest was built around this.

With all the time at home (when I wasn’t working – obvs) my fledgling LEGO collection grew, especially when I started buying bulk lots of assorted bricks, which all needed housing.

I also, at some point, switched my treadmill (which went to work) for a turbo trainer. This installation slowly grew to include a rocker plate and separate monitor.

The initial rocker was a bit of a home-made afair but was soon replaced with a proper commercial model.

When I was on Zwift (before the price hike) I also had a steering unit under my front wheel so that I could pick the route my virtual bike would take.

After moving to My Whoosh, the steerer no longer works so that has been removed.

A lot of the rest of the room is taken up with LEGO storage but there are also a few boxes of cables (network, audio, HDMI) and various home automation bits and pieces (including a surprising number of WiFi smart switches!).

My desk houses my Mac mini with hub housing a 2TB drive for Lightroom and Dropbox local storage) and my 4K monitor. Whilst my latest bout of remodelling, I have dug out an old Denon AV receiver which I’ve hooked up to the mac for some baggin’ sounds.
