My history with the APple iPad began back in 2010, when the original device was released.
I splashed out something like £400 to buy my good lady which we received on launch day.

Over the years, we have upgraded culminating, a couple of years ago, with an iPad Pro with the new M1 chip.
To supplement my iPad, I also bought the Pencil and, a while later, a second hand Magic Keyboard / case affair.
Sue uses her iPad mainly for gaming and found herself running out of storage. To remedy this, I switched to a MacBook Pro and gave her my iPad Pro. She wasn’t interested in the keyboard so that went into storage.
Recently, as I have detailed in previous posts, I have been dabbling with Windows and resurrected (and upgraded) a Microsoft Surface (similar to the iPad but, obviously, running Windows).
Then, I felt the urge to go back to an iPad myself so after And as I still had the keyboard decided to get myself another M1 Pro.
Looking on t’internet, I found an M1 iPad Pro for sale with a 12.9” screen. This is where I should have checked, but I assumed that when I bought the original M1 Pro, I would have plumbed for the larger screen size (it comes in 11” and 12.9” versions) so bought the 12.9” one of eBay.
A few days later, a well wrapped parcel arrived containing my ‘new’ iPad 12.9” Pro. I dug out my old keyboard and offered up the iPad. Wow! It was too big. Like I said, I should have checked.
Now the bigger screen is great, especially for Lightroom and watching videos but it don’t fit the keyboard. Only one thing for it – but another keyboard.
Now, having Apple stamped on it commands a premium price and the official Apple keyboard (even second hand) would knock me back about a ton so I’ve opted for a cheaper version.
The one I got, isn’t a good as the official version (it connect via Bluetooth and has a battery, whereas the Apple one connects directly to the pad) but I’m getting used to it. The keys have a great feel and the battery SHOULD last up to a year (it does come with a spare).
As to my dalliance with Windows, that’s all behind me.
The MacBook Pro is in the gym running Rouvy for my virtual cycling.
