To achieve tomorrow’s ten miles, I’m aiming on doing the Sutton Park parkrun, preceded by a loop of the park. This should give me around eleven miles all in.
To help navigate, I plan on using an app on my Garmin watch called Dynamic Watch (or DW). This app will give me a line to follow, alerting me of any turns that I need to make whilst tracking my progress.
I have created a map (.gpx) with plot-a-route then imported that into DW (LINK) then uploaded the route to my watch via an app on my phone. A bit of a faff but it’s done.
Once my circuit of (most of) the park is complete, I shall line up for a further three miles of the parkrun.
Sutton Coldfield parkrun has recently changed their course with the start moving from Banners Gate to Boldmere Gate. I have walked / run the old course a few times but this will be my first try of the new one.
While messing about installing the app on my phone and watch, I remembered that I used to have an app on the phone that would display my parkrun barcode for scanning post event.
I have reloaded this ready for tomorrow (I’ll take a physical copy as well, just in case).
